The Iowa Department of Transportation is initiating an update to the State Transportation Plan. Iowa's changing economic, social and demographic conditions necessitate a reassessment of our current transportation system so that our transportation needs will be adequately met. The Plan Update, PLANNING AHEAD, will serve as a guide for transportation investments in Iowa for all modes of transportation through 2025. This comprehensive Plan Update will be useful to transportation decision makers at all levels of government throughout the state.
